Preparation of book based on practical experience is considered as one of the finest efforts to educate and support the practical needs of our students, research scholar and scientific community. This book “Manual on Detection and Diagnosis of Plant Diseases” is intended for use by the PG and PhD students as well as Scientist and Research Scholars working on different aspects of plant pathology and allied subjects. The book covers the detail description of technique with adequate background information and pictorials for better understanding on the practical methodology of the subject. A total of 18 chapters of the book with annexures have addresses the most aspects of laboratory techniques used by students and research scholars of plant pathology and allied subjects. Besides the basic techniques (from chapter 1 – 11 & chapter 16), 4 chapters has been included on advanced laboratory techniques (chapter 12 -15). Further, a chapter on “Field experiment and data collection” (chapter 17) will help the readers during their field experimentation. Keeping in view on documentation of the experimental result a chapter on “Preparation of manuscripts for publication” (chapter 18) has also been included for the readers. Two annexures on “Characteristics, formulations, application and calculation of fungicides and antibiotics” for laboratory evaluation and “Scale/Grade of different diseases for calculation of disease incidence and disease severity will help the research scholars and plant pathologist.
